There are eco-friendly, pet-friendly, kid-friendly, etc. However, have you ever heard of a bike-friendly place? These days, where you can find exclusive lanes for bicycles, you can also find places that support this means of transport, this is the case of the Chile Monoloco store.
When does the bike-friendly project start?
“In a country where 75% of the pollutant emissions from the transport sector come from private cars, the bicycle appears as a key tool to face climate change.” (ARCA, 2016).
Thus begins the title awarded by the Central American Regional Association for Water and the Environment (ARCA) to the Courtyard Marriot Hotel in 2016. The hotel committed to the initiative, facilitating access to cyclists to its facilities.
Who joined bike-friendly?
As well as the hotel of the international chain, 30 more entrepreneurs decided to join the initiative. For example, Momentum shopping centers (Pinares and Lindora) and Lincoln Plaza joined creating cycle-parking (bicycle parking).
The store Chile Monoloco also joined, offering benefits to their guests for arriving by bike. They have cycle-parking and reward their employees for arriving by bike as well.
Monoloco a company with awareness
“Chilemonoloco is a project that was born from the kitchen of the house, which has grown with good ideals”, says Pablo Jiménez Rodrígues who together with Paola Conejo Elizondo lead this company. Monoloco seeks to generate a positive social impact, seeking to encourage recycling, cycling and sustainable development.
“We are not in a hurry and we want to enjoy the process” says Pablo Elizondo. Monoloco is the sign that you can do things well done from scratch enjoying life processes, without hurry but with a clear purpose. A purpose of education and collective consciousness hurrying.
These are examples of large and small companies that joined an initiative for a purpose and made the decisions to achieve it. These companies are the proof that it can be done and that decisions with purpose have a strong impact on our society.
