Last Sunday, September 22, the Municipality of Escazú inaugurated a new fully equipped sports village, to motivate residents to stay active.
The project is the result of the work of a year and a half and the investment of around 4 billion colones, to have a pleasant, spacious and quality area.
The facilities have an outdoor amphitheater, with a capacity for 200 people, a gym for more than 1000 people, a multi purpose court for indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball, among others. It even has an 8-lane, semi-Olympic and heated indoor pool.
In addition, a great advance in this mega construction is that it was made with ecological awareness. Half of the land is covered with green spaces, designed not only to contribute to the landscape, but also to attract local species (birds, butterflies, etc).
It is for this reason that it is called an Ecological Sports Villa, not forgetting that it uses solar panels for all lighting logistics.
The objective of the project is, on one hand, to offer athletes municipal support through a safe and comfortable space to train. And on the other hand, to promote a healthier culture for the Escazú citizens, where sedentary lifestyle is left aside.

According to this idea, the Cantonal Sports and Recreation Committee of Escazú has scheduled programs for the public, such as zumba and aerobic dances. And they even started the Escazú Interscholastic Tournament 2019, with swimming, soccer and other disciplines.
There are no excuses to stay at home, we invite you to visit the facilities yourself and enjoy the exercise.
