• 7:00 AM – Departure from San José

  To make the most of your day, leave San José early. A drive of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours along the Costanera Sur highway will take you to the heart of the Central Pacific.

• 9:00 AM – Breakfast in Jacó

  Upon arriving in Jacó, start your day with a delicious breakfast at one of the local cafes. Cafes like Cuarto Verde offer fresh and healthy options to get you going with energy.

• 10:00 AM – Surf or Walk on Jaco Beach

  Jaco is famous for its perfect surfing waves. If you are a beginner, you can take a surf lesson with one of the many local schools. If you prefer something more relaxing, walk along Jaco’s long beach is a great way to enjoy the scenery and fresh sea air.

• 11:30 AM – Crocodile Bridge

  About a 20-minute drive from Jacó, you’ll find the famous Crocodile Bridge over the Tárcoles River. Stop here to observe these impressive reptiles in their natural habitat from the safety of the bridge.

• 12:30 PM – Exploring Carara National Park

  Just a few minutes from Crocodile Bridge is Carara National Park. This park is ideal for a light jungle hike, where you can see rich biodiversity, including scarlet macaws, monkeys, and a variety of birds. Allow about two hours to explore its trails.

• 2:30 PM – Lunch at Playa Herradura

  After the hike, head to Playa Herradura, where you can enjoy lunch at one of the beachfront restaurants.

• 4:00 PM – Water Activities at Playa Herradura

  After lunch, relax on the quiet Playa Herradura. You can rent a kayak or paddleboard to explore the calm waters of the bay, or simply enjoy a refreshing swim.

• 5:30 PM – Sunset at Playa Hermosa

  Before heading back to San Jose, stop at Playa Hermosa, just south of Jaco, known for its spectacular sunsets. Relax on the beach and watch the sun set—a perfect ending to a day full of adventure.

• 7:00 PM – Return to San Jose

  With lasting memories and possibly some stunning photos, embark on the return trip to San Jose, arriving around 8:30 PM.

• Clothing and Equipment: Bring comfortable clothing, a swimsuit, a towel, sunscreen, a hat, and suitable walking shoes so you can explore the Central Pacific in the best way possible.

• Hydration and Snacks: Bring water and some snacks, although you will have opportunities to buy food throughout the day.

• Respect for nature: Follow the rules of national parks and beaches, respect wildlife, and do not leave trash.
