Monuments are intended to honor our history. The sculptures stop time to convey a great message. There are many works of art that adorn our parks and important centers and without a doubt one of our favorites is the Monument to Costa Rican Education created by the talented sculptor born in San Ramón de Alajuela: Germán Esquivel Fonseca.

Monument to Costa Rican Education

The Monument to Costa Rican Education was inaugurated in 2021 and honors the work of the teachers who every day provide the necessary tools to our children and young people to be citizens with values and to contribute positively to our society.

The sculpture, which measures 6 meters high, portrays the children who come to the classrooms with a desire to learn. In an increasingly over-stimulated world, the value of good guidance and quality education allows us to conquer new frontiers, generate new questions and expand horizons.

According to the words of Germán “The first child is studying, has a book and symbolizes learning. The second is a child in a wheelchair which means there are  opportunities for everyone, there are no differences.”

It took six months for the sculptor to complete the work of the Monument to Costa Rican Education, a work of art that can be seen in the park of San Ramón de Alajuela, on the outskirts of the Catholic church.

The western area is characterized by creating active communities that work to ensure a good lifestyle. Investing in this area is making sure you enter a stable market with great development opportunities.
