Canton commits with the ecology
Did you know that the city of Tibás has not one, but two Ecological Blue Flag awards? These are the rewards of the practices in favor of the environment that the Municipality of Tibás has promoted since three years ago, in order to give back to nature and guarantee citizens cleaner and more attractive spaces.
Some good examples of these efforts are the programs “Tibás Recycles” and “Tibas Clean City”, which promote the correct management and disposal of waste and the habit of recycling.
If you live at Tibás you will be very glad to know that thanks to these proyects, there are specialized garbage picking routes in order to collect cardboard, plastic, aluminum, glass, etc. And nontraditional waste too. like electronics, mattresses and furniture.
Not all your waste has to end up at the city dump. Up to 30% of it is recoverable! Such an opportunity should not be ignored.
Taking part of is simple, all you have to do is separate and clean the materials, pack them and get them out of your house early in the morning in order to be picked on the given dates.

On the other hand, the Environmental Management Department has also made efforts reforestating parks of the area, to beautify them, invite the neighbors to use those public spaces and seek to enhance habitats for birds, butterflies and bees.
