Meet doña Xinia, her story and the reason why she is so beloved among the neighbors

At Los Robles Park, in San Vicente of Moravia, you can find every Tuesday a farmers market, which even though is small, it hides a big secret: both, neighbors and farmers, are friendly and hard working people. It’s a homely place where you can find from fruits and vegetables, to ornamental plants and medicinal plants.

But within this particular fair, there is a woman who stands out for the energy, smile and affection with which she receives all visitors, in addition to the excellent quality of her products. This is Mrs. Xinia Vázquez, producer and saleswoman who has been arriving at the playground for 15 years to install her “chinamito” from very early in the morning. She happily offers her products from 4 a.m. until 1 p.m. and sells carrots, strawberries, onions and potatoes.

Mrs. Vázquez is an exemplary woman because with her business and her hard work at the farmers market, she has managed to move her family forward; Her husband and five children. It is not an easy job and has faced challenges that have tested her, especially on the economic issue. The simple fact of moving to this market is an effort, since she is a neighbor of the Los Santos, so she travels a long round trip each week.

Nevertheless, she guarantees that the job is worth it and that she is proud and grateful to God for having an honest job that has given her family and herself a decent lifestyle., besides she now has regular clients and enjoys speaking to anyone who answers back her welcoming greet.

Also, her products sell a lot, her secret is that everything she grows comes from Dota and due to the good soil quality, her goods are always fresh, tasty, big and at a good price.

And as a witness of the good quality of Xinia’s products and the farmer’s market in general, Don Luis Monge is a faithful buyer. Since he can remember, he attends every week to get varied fruits such as: pineapple, mango, avocado, papaya, banana, strawberry and pipe.

This is how this small but cheerful community, for approximately 35 years, when the farmer’s market was founded in Los Robles Park, has become a place of coexistence and work for many farmers.
