The effort of the ZEE turns in order to position Costa Rica and Cartago as an attractive area for technological and commercial development. Since it has several Free Zones, good supply of electrical and water resources at lower costs than other places, highly qualified workforce and a quiet lifestyle, with many amenities and unmissable tourist sites.
In addition to attracting investors and having generated more than 7,000 direct jobs to date, the Cartago Special Economic Zone has a deep commitment to the issue of updating the curricula of students in the area. So they rigorously monitor the demand for careers by foreign companies, in order to be at the forefront of qualified personnel.
Essentially, the goal of the Cartago Special Economic Zone is to ensure that foreign direct investment companies, which comply with guidelines for environmental respect and working conditions in the country, persive Cartago and its people as the best option to start or expand their operations

Scope and ramifications of the Cartago EEZ
It is important to mention that the Cartago EEZ is an holistic project, which has supported different institutions outside the TEC. For example, in search of creating a productive chain, they have already held 3 meetings together with PROCOMER and the Cartago Chamber of Commerce to create long-term relationships with SMEs in the province.
On the other hand, in addition to seeking to update high-demand careers at the TEC. They have followed up on the INA and the 13 regional technical colleges, so that not only university graduates, but the entire population can improve their academic and therefore employment profile.
In short, the work of the EEZ Cartago points to great benefits for the province and the country in general. Since it not only attracts foreign investment, but also expands the labor offer for locals. The opportunity to have access to studies and work near the place of residence, contributes physical and psychological well-being.
