Wallpapers are tapestries with patterns, illustrations, colors and textures that can give a unique style to your home and to each room. It is clear that the idea is not to cover the house completely, but there are some key spaces that can be highlighted with this technique.
Where to place them?
The great thing about tapestries is that there are an infinite number of styles and no matter what your tastes are, you will find the ideal ones for your home. Still, there are some trends or designs more recommended than others, depending on the use of each room.
For example, geometric shapes with pastel or light colors are perfect for rooms where you need calm and concentration. Some designs can be very energetic and for rooms like the office for example, it is vital that your walls are not a distraction when working.
In a children’s playroom, you can experiment with more saturated wallpapers and with designs to their liking, so that it is not so serious and is a pleasant space.
On the other hand, some spaces to accentuate, which look great with tapestries, according to expert space designer Carmen Álava, are the kitchen and the bathroom. Because the idea of wallpapers is that they give personality to the home, but that they do not tire the eye, then it is advisable to avoid them in the rooms where most of the time is spent, such as private rooms. Or at least choose a single wall within these spaces, to highlight.
Ávala gives a very curious tip, focused for Costa Rican families:
A space where I would take advantage of wallpapers is the laundry room. It is rare but since one spends a good amount of time attending to household chores – which are not always very fun -, a tapestry would brighten the atmosphere

And actually the decoration with wallpapers is not exclusive for walls, they can upholster furniture or steps on stairs to give it a unique, very original and more subtle than covering the entire room.
