The Grecia Forest Reserve, known as El Bosque del Niño, in Costa Rica, is a space that offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of a very humid forest on the slopes of the Poás Volcano.
Located approximately 14 kilometers north of the city of Grecia, to access it, you must take the road that leads to the volcano. Additionally, it protects one of the remaining forest areas that are part of the buffer zone of the Poás Volcano National Park.

The history of Bosque Del Niño!
The Grecia Forest Reserve was established by Law No. 5463 on January 25, 1974, covering an area of 2,611 hectares, with the purpose of preserving water sources that supply the population of Grecia and other cantons in the region.
In 1979, the government acquired a 40-hectare property within the Forest Reserve, which was named Bosque del Niño (Child’s Forest) because 8 hectares were reforested with pine, cypress, and eucalyptus by the children from neighboring communities on September 9, 1979. This date coincided with the celebration of the International Children’s Day.
