As can be seen in other industries, the real estate area is one in which unique styles and trends are constantly being generated. Some of them in this year that are already leaving a mark for future investments in the country, we will review some of the most influential that close a year with many movements in this area.
Vertical construction
The Gran Área Metropolitana is increasingly filled with real estate towers, especially in areas such as Curridabat, San Pedro, Moravia, Escazú, Santa Ana and Heredia. They are structures built for markets such as millennials or for families of few members due to the reduced space compared to real estate agents that sell horizontally. The trend is more in spaces where they can live with their neighbors and other inhabitants of the tower, although this means making the sacrifice of living in less square meters to be used in shared areas.
Mini-cities
Real estate projects that are constituted in providing multiservices to buyers are known, where in addition to residing in their homes, they can live in various areas or even be used for work from home.
Every day, developers value factors such as work from home, so the refurbishment of residences takes into account that people are not only going to live there, but to work, so security, technology and connectivity issues are important.

The idea is to be able to meet the needs and desires of people with shops located in that area so that they do not have to travel long distances to go to restaurants, entertainment, sports, supermarkets and other establishments. It is a relatively new concept in Costa Rica that is beginning to be implemented in places like Santa Ana and Heredia.
Green areas
The consumer greatly appreciates that the house has an exclusive space allocated for green area due to its connection with nature and that this essence of contact with the outside is not lost, taking into account that said area generally does not have a roof. The idea of having a green area is a concept that accompanies the structure of the majority of houses today and although they are vertical structures, real estate agencies ensure that they have a designated space and that is pleasing to the client. Also, this includes that there are areas designated as “pet friendly” since it is common for families to have a pet, and this could be an important point to take into account to make the decision to invest in a specific house.
In recent years the real estate sector has had a high growth in infrastructure, adding that it has to adapt to the new trends that arise in the Costa Rican market.
