Based on the experience of our Nativu Guanacaste consultant, Fabricio Riggioni, we share the following recommendations to buy a lot or a farm in Guanacaste.

  1. Make sure you verify that the lot has a registered blueprint. This allows you to see the location of the lot and know if it includes areas that are protected or are a national park. Knowing the use of the land, before buying is vital, in order to know how much land is available for construction or not.

  2. Become familiar with the entity that regulates the water service in the area where the lot is located and see the availability of the resource, to know what permits are available and what construction options are viable.
  3. Lastly, thoroughly review all legal documents, find out if the property is in a personal or company title, and generally know the legal status of the project.
