What we are promoting is for them to become more socially active, find more friends, exercise. It is a space where we are neighbors again.

The idea is that people over 50 have a healthy space to get together; make new friends, meet their neighbors and exercise by dancing.

Both, lovers of Latin rhythms and those who simply want to enjoy the atmosphere, talk and watch others dance, are invited. About 200 people attend each week, so the atmosphere is always very cheerful.

In addition, a sale of meals, contests and once a month a live music ensemble is invited.

Apart from the Notas de Primavera, the Municipality of Escazú has a variety of projects for the elderly, some of them are: tai chi, computering , guitar, English, Portuguese, physical therapy, etc.

Don Jesús is one of the elders who proposed this activity and he never misses the opportunity to attend, he says it is his own quality time with himself because it gets him away from the routine.

On the other hand, Doña Giselle, besides enjoying the dances, she has taken cooking lessons, a women’s leadership program and supports the local farmers market.

Both of them are very active citizens, they enjoy and recommend assisting to the activities the municipality organize and they are very proud to live in Escazú.
